Beatenberg
Sitting high above Lake Thun basking in the sun, Beatenberg has unrivaled views of the Alpine peaks of the Bernese Oberland including the famous the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Beatenberg village is particularly popular with nature-lovers and families, a quieter corner of the Jungfrau Region.
The village is one of the best vantage points to view of blue Lake Thun. Just about 10 kilometres by road away from Interlaken, with an excellent bus service makes Beatenberg a great day trip or holiday destination.
Beatenberg has been awarded the «Families Welcome» label: a day-home for children, playgrounds, barbecue areas, pushchair-friendly walking trails, lending service for books, games, toddler articles etc. are available.

Summer
In summer the mountain countryside is perfect for short walks day hikes. The Beatusweg, a walk from the Waldegg district to the village centre. The wooden castle which is safe to walk on, the ship and the big dragon are simply waiting for children to play on them. A biographical theme trail is dedicated to the best selling author Erich von Däniken.
The Niederhorn (1950 m), is accessible by aerial cableway from the village as well as from the nearby lakeside. From the Niederhorn you can choose from several walks back to the village village or over the Gemmenalphorn to the neighbouring village of Habkern, where if you are lacky, you may see a marmot along the way. There is also scooter-bike rental with 2 trails back to the village. The Niederhorn and Beatenberg are very popular with paragliders.

- Lake Thun – from the Beatenberg easily accessible by train of road. Water sports and excursions by ship.
- Niederhorn – vantage point above Beatenberg, starting point for short and long walks and family-friendly ski region.
